RTL Matin report - Augmented Ear at the Saint-Jacut-les-Pins nursing home

The RTL teams went to the Ehpad in Saint-Jacut-les-Pins in the 35 to discover the Augmented Ear of Caregivers in real conditions.

L'INTEGRALE - RTL Morning of 03/04/2024 (Yves Calvi, Amandine Bégot) at 1:00:00

Installed in the rooms of residents of the nursing home, this smart box makes it possible to detect worrying situations via the analysis of the sound environment, and alerts caregivers on a smartphone if necessary.

Mathieu Lopinot and his teams collected the testimonies of a resident who had fallen and from the night caregiver who received the alert and was able to intervene immediately, preventing the resident from staying on land for more than 1 hour before the next round.

This system provides significant support to healthcare personnel, which is particularly valuable during the nights when the number of staff is reduced. By reducing the need for frequent rounds, it frees up valuable time to provide better quality care. These alerts allow caregivers to intervene quickly, thus strengthening the safety of residents, especially considering the consequences of a prolonged period ashore for seniors.

Sophie, a night caregiver, testifies to the benefits of Augmented Ear for residents, and the possible prevention of certain complex situations. In fact, the box also detects other alerts, such as respiratory distress, emergency calls, vomiting, suffocation...
