Learn more about the OSO-AI company

Born in 2018, based on work conducted by the scientist member of the Académie des Sciences Claude Berrou, OSO-AI is led by Breton entrepreneurs who want to create a useful business in France after 20 years of international professional experience.

The idea of the Augmented Ear at the service of fragile people took shape in 2018. Then began a period of experimentation in the field, the co-founders spent entire nights in several living areas (CHU, nursing homes, establishments for people with disabilities...) to understand the needs of fragile people and staff and adjust the solution to their expectations. The history of OSO-AI is above all a story built on encounters: The encounter of new technologies and the medical-social world. The meeting of people motivated by the same project: that of putting the wealth that technological advances allow us to serve others. Our vision is then to see that sound is an unlimited source of information. Our technology can understand anything that's needed.

OSO-AI, has been marketing its unique solution in the world, The Augmented Ear of Caregivers, since 2021 in establishments in the medical-social sector (EHPAD, MAS and FAM). The Augmented Ear of caregivers is revolutionizing care practices and facilitates the daily life of medico-social institutions. The company employs 44 highly qualified people (AI engineers and developers, data scientist, data labeller...) and has received several awards and awards. Among them, the Digital Innovation Prize 2023 during the annual SFGG days (French Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology). OSO-AI has obtained a first Fundraising of 4 million euros in 2020, then a second in April 2023, Of 10 million euros. For more information: www.oso-ai.com

We provide you with additional training documents and videos. Our teams are available to answer all your questions  support@oso-ai.com

What is the scope of caregivers' Augmented Ear monitoring?

A housing is positioned in each of the chambers. It covers the area of a room in an establishment and its bathroom.

Use

How does an Augmented Ear for caregivers differ from a baby monitoring device?

An alert is transmitted from a sound, on a smartphone made available to the caregiver in a medical-social establishment. Caregivers' Augmented Ear analyzes noises in rooms and Alert only in case of its suspect. The discreet housing is fixed against the wall with the retransmission of qualified information. Alert monitoring is available to managers and management of institutions.

How is the urgency of an alert assessed?

The Augmented Ear of caregivers is the result of close collaboration with health professionals - involvement of our scientific and ethical advice for decision-making, with caregivers, supported by artificial intelligence (AI). Over 150 sounds, such as noises of vomiting, calls for help, machine beeps, respiratory distress, are recorded in our algorithms. Our device includestwo types of alerts: one related to comfort and the other to emergency. This allows caregivers to make the decision for themselves as to whether it is appropriate to interrupt their tasks to intervene in the resident's room. Thus, healthcare personnel can easily differentiate a simple call “for help” from a real emergency situation.

Benefits

Is the augmented ear really effective in detecting falls?

OSO-AI is mentioned in the Fall arrest plan from the Ministry of Health Not a remote support solution. The Augmented Ear of Caregivers Makes It Possible to Detect Accurate Alerts in Real Time. When a disturbing sound is detected, the alert is sent to caregivers directly on a smartphone. The Sound can be listened to to judge its criticality. But our device detects much more than a fall! Our device is capable of recognizing a large variety of sounds with great precision. OSO AI has built up a database of several million sounds from the medical-social and health worlds. As far as we know, this database is unique in the world, in terms of its size and diversity. It is fed every day by the data labeler team, who analyzes and notes the new sounds encountered. Our artificial neural networks are continuously re-trained on the new data available. The improvements obtained in this way are automatically deployed to all our users. Thanks to this unique technology in the world, the Augmented Ear of Caregivers is Capable of detecting more than 150 categories of sounds and noises analyzed by AI. Any abnormal noise (fall, scream, call, call, call, call, respiratory distress, vomiting, machine beeping...) from residents is detected to alert caregivers.

What are the benefits of the Caregivers' Augmented Ear for healthcare institutions?

The Augmented Ear of Caregivers is revolutionizing the way we help vulnerable people, by supporting medical and social institutions on a daily basis and by improving the Quality of Life at Work for Caregivers It allows:

  • The replacement of sick calls (Many people are unable to use the traditional sick call)
  • La elimination of systematic rounds. The caregiver can thus devote himself to the time spent in relationships with the resident and devote himself to the care. Thanks to the monitoring carried out by our service, caregivers are freed from the mental load associated with continuous monitoring. They can focus on their job again and better manage their time. A Strutures 3.0 impact study, AAP (Digital Health Agency), was conducted in 180 nursing home rooms, which shows in particular an improvement in the QWL of caregivers, and an increase of one hour of care time per caregiver and per day.
  • One better personalization of care. The Augmented Ear of caregivers makes it possible to prevent accidents and injuries, to ensure greater peace of mind for residents and their families, to improve the quality of life of patients and to reduce health costs.

Can the augmented ear replace the sick call?
