Press release: OSO-AI at the Care Show Japan 2025

OSO-AI Showcases Cutting-Edge Ambient Intelligence Technology at Care Show Japan 2025, as part of the launch of its operations in Japan

Tokyo (Japan), Brest (France), February 10, 2025 - OSO-AI, a technology company pioneering the use of Ambient Intelligence to help vulnerable people and caregivers, announces its participation in Care Show Japan 2025, from February 26 to 28, in Tokyo, Japan. Care Show is a trade show for care professionals. The event covers nursing, medical care, healthcare, healthcare facility management, and information technology for the care sector.

OSO-AI management team will be on-site to present the Enhanced Ear for Caregivers. This technology, which takes the form of a tiny wall-mounted box that can be installed in just a few minutes, uses artificial intelligence to detect alarming sounds (vomiting, falls, cries for help, signs of respiratory distress...) in the environment of a vulnerable person. If a danger is detected, a qualified and descriptive alert is immediately sent to the care staff on their phone, enabling them to intervene rapidly.

This technology, unique in the world, is now a reference in the accompaniment of vulnerable people and the organization of care in medical and social establishments in France.

Toward the launch of OSO-AI operations in Japan

OSO-AI's presence at the Care Show in Tokyo is an opportunity for the French company to reinforce its development strategy in Japan, and to meet other professionals specializing in the care of vulnerable people in Japan, notably within healthcare establishments.

In Japan, caring for people who are fragile and dependent is a key issue, with people aged 75 and over accounting for almost 22% of the Japanese population (around 22 million people). In addition, around 7.6% of the population lives with a disability (approximately 9.63 million people).

Face à cet enjeu de taille, le Japon connaît un manque important de soignants, dont le nombre est estimé à 380 000 personnes. Les établissements pour personnes handicapées font, en outre, face à une sévère pénurie de main d’œuvre.

Faced with this major challenge, Japan has a significant shortage of caregivers, estimated at 380,000. Establishments for the disabled are also facing a severe shortage of manpower.

About OSO-AI

OSO-AI, a French technology company specializing in Ambient Intelligence, has designed a technology that is unique in the world: the Enhanced Ear for caregivers. This revolutionary solution, based on advanced artificial intelligence and sound recognition, enables secure remote monitoring of vulnerable people, particularly in medical-social establishments. Facilitating the detection of critical sounds improves not only the safety of residents but also the quality of working life for care staff. OSO-AI's ambition is to become a standard in the medical and social care sector in France and abroad, revolutionizing care practices and the architecture of the EHPADS of tomorrow.

Founded in Brest in 2018 by four engineers, all with complementary and international experience in major groups in France and the United States, OSO-AI today employs 52 highly qualified people (engineers and developers, AI specialists, data scientists, data labelers, etc.). Thanks to this unique innovation, they are working to transform the daily lives of caregivers and the vulnerable.

OSO-AI has won several awards and prizes (Trophée E-Santé 2022, Med4Age 2021, Laureate of the Charles Foix 2021 grant from Silver Valley), and was awarded the Prix de l'Innovation Numérique 2023 at the annual meeting of the SFGG (Société Française de Gériatrie et Gérontologie). OSO-AI has just been named national Start-up of the Year by EY, bringing its chapter as a start-up to a close and launching OSO-AI as a leading disruptive player at international level.  OSO-AI has raised a total of 14 million euros in capital to support the hypergrowth of its sales in France and has been setting its sights on international markets (Japan and Northern Europe) since the end of 2024. Today, OSO-AI is a member of French Care and BPI France's Club Excellence, making it one of France's leading networks of healthcare companies and executives.

OSO-AI participates in research projects in collaboration with the Pitié-Salpêtrière Hospital. A program has been set up with the Pitié-Salpêtrière hospital's pneumology department, with a budget of 1.5 million euros over two years, to gain a better understanding of breathing through sound and its correlation with a patient's health. OSO-AI is also the 2022 winner of a “Structures 3.0” call for projects, organized by the Agence du Numérique en Santé (ANS), which has enabled an impact study to be carried out on 180 rooms in 4 EHPADs. L'Oreille Augmentée des Soignants is revolutionizing the way we help vulnerable people, by improving the Quality of Life at Work for caregivers.
